What is Pupil Premium?
Pupil premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. It was introduced by the Government in 2011 to give schools extra allowance for children who:
- Were registered as eligible free school meals in the last 6 years
- Had been looked after continuously for 6 months or longer
- Have parents that serve in the Armed Forces
It is really important to the school that every child who is eligible for ‘Free School Meals’ is registered with the school. To be eligible, the family must be in receipt of certain benefits. If you think you might be entitled and are not currently claiming, please contact our school office
