We benefit from working closely with other schools in the area to enrich the provision for both children and parents. Junior Sports Leaders from The Hamble School contribute to a range of activities in school and have helped in the training of our playground play leaders. Our Junior Road Safety Officers highlight the importance of road safety in both the Infant and Junior schools. They also work closely with the Hampshire County Council Road Safety Unit. We receive visits from local ministers and visit the local church and community as a natural part of the curriculum. The extended schools network is also a part of this and has developed a website to sign post services for parents. It also commissions such things as parenting groups or courses, breakfast clubs, after school and holidays clubs.
The children’s centre is also central to this service and with your help these services will continue to be expanded provided that we know what you as parents want or need.

We run a well attended Parent Forum every term to promote an open dialogue with the parents of our school. We have made many positive changes to our school based upon the feedback we have received. We will invite all parents to these events through letters home and the Parent communication system.

The ‘Friends of Netley Abbey Junior School’ organise many events throughout the year for both pupils and parents. Many of these are very social. If you are interested in becoming a member of the team, please contact the school and we will pass your details to the committee. Without the support of our parent body, these activities cannot take place.
